Parametric 3D Volumes

These images are the result of an exploration into creating abstracted 3D volumes using only basic curves modelled in Rhinoceros 3D along with the Grasshopper plugin. The key to this method is the simple script I made in Grasshopper that generates a cluster of surfaces with semi-random placement and rotation around each curve to give the sense of a 3-dimensional volume. This has turned out to be a useful way to quickly represent abstracted 3D objects and give mass to a concept at the early stages.

Below is an example of the grasshopper script applied to each curve.
